SATURDAY’S WEATHER FORECAST: 5/11/24

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Saturday will be mostly sunny, with scattered showers and possibly thunderstorms. The high temperature will be approximately 87°F, 30.5°C, with winds out of the south-southeast at about 8 to 11 mph. The chance of rain on Saturday is approximately 50% as an unsettled weather pattern continues. Please remember that the ground is very saturated; additional rain could lead to flash flooding.
Saturday night will be mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The low temperature will be approximately 79°F, 26.1°C, with winds out of the southeast at about 8 to 10 mph. The possibility of rain on Saturday night is approximately 50%.
Weather conditions are expected to improve further around Sunday as an area of low pressure moves away from the region. However, Saharan dust may be prevalent over the next few days and through next week.
Below: Infrared satellite imagery obtained at 6:40 p.m. AST on Friday indicates a partly cloudy sky around the USVI and Puerto Rico. Additional rainfall and thunderstorms are possible.
MARINE WEATHER UPDATE
A northeasterly swell is expected to continue to fade gradually. However, gusty winds and possible thunderstorms may generate some wind-driven, choppy seas.
On Saturday, the seas will be approximately 2 to 3 feet, with occasional seas up to 4 feet. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at about 5 to 10 knots.
