VIPD 2018-1 -- take the oath of office Friday morning at the Leonard Francis Armory. The second class of police cadets, the first on St. Thomas for the year, includes three members of the Virgin Islands Police Department, peace officers serving in the Executive Security Unit, Superior Court Marshalls, VI Port Authority, Taxi Commission and the Department of Justice. There are also four new officers for the Bureau of Corrections.
VIPD Territorial Police Chief Winsbut Mc Farlane congratulated the recruits for successfully completing seven months of rigorous training.
Superior Court Judge Harold Willocks administered the oath of office as police brass, friends and family looked on.
The first class of recruits graduated Wednesday on St. Croix.
