The V.I. Waste Management Authority will begin work Tuesday on a section of aging sewer line in the Hidden Valley area, the authority said in a statement released Monday.
The existing sewer system was built more than 40 years ago and needs repair and upgrade to service the growing neighborhood, VIWMA said.
The project consists of replacing 230 feet of sewer line, raising two manholes and restoring asphalt pavement along the repair trench. The $65,587 contract was awarded to Grade-All Heavy Equipment.
Traffic between addresses 394-281 and 394-286 Hidden Valley will be restricted as a result of the construction. Signage will be placed by the contractor to direct the public on detours and alternative routes.
