Man Arrested After Being Caught on Camera

The V.I. Police Department on Thursday arrested Malik Cheatham, 64 of Solberg, and charged him with two counts of grand larceny and one count of destruction of property in three different incidents.

According to police:

– At 10:15 p.m. Oct 15 to 3:56 a.m. Oct. 16, Cheatham was observed on video surveillance footage entering H&W Distributers located on Gasverk Gade as he removed merchandise totaling $801.16.

– On Oct 26, Cheatham was observed on video surveillance as he broke into and removed tools from Tempaire International company vehicle, totaling $100.

– On Nov. 24 Chatham was seen on video surveillance as he broke the rear passenger glass of an H&W Distributers company vehicle and damaging the company’s video surveillance equipment.

Cheatham was charged with grand larceny. Bail was set at $35,000 and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advise of rights hearing.
