Domestic Violence detectives on St. Croix are hunting for Betty Ann Young on assault charges, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Police said the suspect stabbed a man with a florescent light bulb, and has been evading police for several weeks. They are now seeking the public’s assistance in apprehending her and have issued a "Wanted" poster.
Young is wanted for third-degree assault and contempt of court in a domestic violence case.
Police said on July 9 Young called her former boyfriend to fix her vehicle, which he did. Young was driving the victim home when an argument ensued and Young stabbed the victim in the back with a florescent light bulb.
The victim was hospitalized for at least two days before being released.
Betty Ann Young is 57 years old, 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 158 pounds. She has short, wavy black hair and brown eyes. She frequents Fredensborg, Mon Bijou and Candido Guadalupe housing community. She may be driving a red Aveo, license plate CCY-701
