Police Arrest Two in Separate Rape Cases

In unrelated cases, police on St. Croix arrested two suspects and charged them with rape, the V.I. Police Department announced Monday.

Both suspects were arrested on warrants issued from the V.I. Superior Court.

Michael Joseph, 30, was charged with second-degree aggravated rape of a minor female. The incident occurred Sept. 5. His bail was set at $75,000.

Levron Bethel, 36, was charged with the first-degree aggravated rape of a female minor that occurred in 2011. His bail was set at $100,000.

Due to the sensitivity of the cases and the ages of the victims, police are not issuing any additional information about the cases.

Both suspects were arrested Friday and remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility.
