TROPIC WATCH

Tropical Activity:

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring several tropical disturbances:

The NHC has noted that “Tropical Storm Beryl” has formed in the Atlantic, and the cyclone is moving to the west. The storm is expected to intensify as it moves across the southern islands in the Lesser Antilles.

Additionally, another tropical wave in the Atlantic is being monitored for development. Regardless of how close each disturbance is to the USVI and Puerto Rico, impacts including hazardous marine conditions and inclement weather should be expected. The forecast can change rapidly, and updates will be posted as they become available. Residents and visitors are advised to follow the NHC for updates.

The NHC is also monitoring “Invest 94L” near the southwestern Gulf of Mexico for possible development. This system could develop as it moves toward the southwestern Gulf of Mexico later this weekend. A tropical depression may form.

The forecast can change rapidly. Please follow the National Hurricane Center for the latest updates.
