The VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS) has begun recovery operations after Hurricane Maria. Due to the impact caused by the severe weather associated with the storm, the operating status of the VA Caribbean Healthcare System has been modified.

They or their families should call 1-800-507-4571 to receive information on where to go for care, how to receive prescription drugs, or any other concerns they may have about their care. The phone line will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Outpatient services of the San Juan VA Medical Center are closed. However, inpatient services are fully operational for patients admitted for care.
Outpatient Clinics in Arecibo, Ceiba, Comerio, Guayama, Mayaguez, Ponce, St. Croix, St. Thomas, Utuado, and Vieques will remain CLOSED on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Veterans impacted by closures will be contacted by VA staff to reschedule their appointments as soon as possible. In the event of a medical and mental health emergency, Veterans are encouraged to dial 911 or visit the closest emergency room.
