Man Robbed by Four Suspects in Christiansted

A man was robbed by four suspects late Sunday in downtown Christiansted, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police reported they were notified of the robbery just before midnight Sunday.

The victim told police he was talking on his cell phone near the Scotia Bank when four men walked up behind him. One suspect, who was wearing a red bandana over his face, pointed a small handgun at him and told him to get on the ground.

The suspects searched the victim’s pockets and took $100 in cash, the victim’s keys, cell phone and iPod, and then fled the area on foot in a northerly direction, according to the preliminary report.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau are following up on the case.
