24-Year-Old Shooting Victim Dies

A 24-year-year-old man shot earlier in the week died Wednesday from his wounds, according to a release from the V.I. Police Department.

Police said they found 24-year-old Nemecio Camacho III with a gunshot wound to his upper body and a handgun tucked into the waist of his pants in Estate Bonne Esperance around 10 a.m. Monday.

Camacho was taken by ambulance to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. He did not recover.

This is the territory’s 11th homicide in 2012.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives continue to investigate this shooting. Anyone with any information on this murder is asked to call detectives at 712-6037 or 712-6077 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
