Police Investigating Two Reckless Endangerment Cases

Police are investigating two cases of reckless endangerment that occurred over the weekend. Shots were fired at a man Saturday on South Shore Road, but no one was injured. However, on Sunday a two-year old girl was shot in an apparent accident and was taken to the hospital for her injuries.

According to police, a 23-year-old man told police he was walking on South Shore Road at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday, when he noticed a man carrying a chrome handgun, dressed in black and donning a black face mask. The victim began running, and the suspect allegedly fired several shots in his direction. The man was unharmed and said the suspect left the scene in a gold-colored vehicle.

The second case involves an apparent accidental gunshot injury that occurred in Estate Prosperity in Frederiksted around 3 p.m. Sunday. According to police, a two-year-old girl was injured and was taken the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. Police are investigating the case as an accidental discharge.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are continuing to investigate both cases.
