Man Charged with Smashing Window at Ex-Girlfriend’s House

The V.I. Police Department arrested a man Wednesday who allegedly tried to break into his ex-girlfriend’s home and then damaged her living room window.

The suspect, Rashede Emmanuelle of Estate Mon Bijou, was arrested minutes before 11 p.m. and charged with destruction of property domestic violence. According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the John F. Kennedy housing community to investigate a domestic dispute.

The victim said Emmanuelle was drinking, they got into an argument and she told him to leave. While outside the home, Emmanuelle allegedly tried to get back in by pulling on the bedroom window. He also tried using the house key, but the keyhole was blocked with a safety pin, according to the victim.

Emmanuelle allegedly threatened to physically harm the victim, and then broke the living room window. After his arrest, he was remanded to Golden Grove Correctional Facility, where his bail was denied due to the domestic violence law.
