Man Uses Flashlight to Assault Resident, Police Say

St. Croix police arrested a subcontractor Thursday after he allegedly assaulted a 61-year-old man by hitting him several times with a flashlight while performing work at the victim’s company.

According to police, 55-year-old Bruce Dall of La Grande Princesse was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. after officers were dispatched to a private residence to investigate an assault.

The victim said he was having a discussion with Dall about money he owed him for work performed. When he told Dall he would go to the bank to get the money, the victim said he was unsure if the amount Dall stated was correct. According to the victim, Dall got upset and immediately began hitting the victim on the head with a 12-volt flashlight.

The victim was cut above his left eyebrow and on his head and was transported to Gov. Juan F. Luis Medical Center for treatment. Bail for Dall was set at $25,000, and he was remanded to Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending further court action.
