TUESDAY’S WEATHER FORECAST: 4/30/24
Happy Tuesday!
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tuesday will be mostly sunny and breezy, with scattered showers. The high temperature will be approximately 88°F, 31.1°C, with gusty winds out of the east-northeast at about 21 to 23 mph, gusting up to 29 mph. The chance of rain on Tuesday is approximately 30%. However, the ground is saturated, and any additional heavy rainfall could result in some minor flooding.
Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms. The low temperature will be approximately 77°F, 25°C, and gusty winds out of the east-northeast at about 23 mph, gusting up to 29 mph. The possibility of rain on Tuesday night is approximately 70%.
A more unstable weather pattern is forecast for the second half of the week, and updates will be posted as they become available.

MARINE WEATHER UPDATE
The NWS has noted that a northerly swell and gusty winds will continue to generate choppy seas. A Small Craft Advisory will be in effect for portions of the waters around the local islands. A High Rip Current Risk will be in effect for portions of Puerto Rico and the USVI, including St. Thomas and St. John.
On Tuesday, seas will be approximately 6 to 8 feet, with occasional seas up to 10 feet and a swell period of 10 seconds. Winds will be out of the east-northeast at about 15 to 20 knots, gusting up to 30 knots.
On Tuesday night, seas will be approximately 5 to 7 feet, with occasional seas up to 9 feet and a swell period of 10 seconds. Winds will be out of the east-northeast at about 15 to 20 knots, gusting up to 30 knots.
The water temperature is approximately 83-84°F, approximately 28°C.

HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS
Rip Currents: The risk of rip currents is projected to be moderate to high across most of the region on Tuesday. A High Rip Current Risk will be in effect for portions of Puerto Rico and the USVI, including St. Thomas and St. John.
