St. Croix Athlete Qualifies for Second Consecutive Junior Olympics in Track and Field

LeSotho Golphin has qualified for his second Junior Olympics competition and will be competing in the USA Track and Field (USATF) National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, from July 24-30.

Ten years old, Golphin has qualified and will be competing in the 11-12 years-old age group in hurdles and high jump at the Hayward Field at the University of Oregon, which is the premiere host for this year’s Junior Olympic Competition in Track Town USA.

LeSotho is coached by his father, Charles Golphin Jr., and is a team member of the Hounds and Foxes Track Club (St .Croix and Chicago branches) and the Homewood Bulldawgs Track Club in Pittsburgh, Penn. LeSotho also receives seasonal training from Coach Terrell Henderson at the Chicago branch of the Hounds and Foxes Track Club.
