Body Found in Estate Thomas Died of Natural Causes, Autopsy Shows

The woman whose body was found on the ground Tuesday in Estate Thomas died of natural causes, according to the V.I. Police Department, rather than as the result of a traffic accident, as police originally suspected.

Police identified the woman as 60-year-old Valerie Tyson Clarke. The body was found Tuesday morning and at the time, police speculated that the cause of death was a traffic accident.

However, following an autopsy, the VIPD Traffic Investigation Bureau confirmed that Clarke died of natural causes.

The findings close the investigation, which was being conducted as a possible pedestrian accident.
