Police Arrest Woman in Antilles Shooting Incident

The V.I. Police Department on Tuesday evening arrested Angelica V. Lee, 40, of Donningens Gade, Charlotte Amalie, and charged her in connection with a Friday incident that resulted in gunshots being fired in the vicinity of Antilles School.

At 7:19 p.m. Friday officers were dispatched to the Antilles School in reference to an altercation, and then were updated that shots had been fired in the area.

The preliminary report states that two women who were providing contracted work for the school had been having a verbal altercation that became physical. According to the police report, one of the women then retrieved her legally licensed firearm, shot two rounds in the air and then pointed it at the other woman.

Lee was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and charged with discharging/aiming a firearm, third-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, use of a firearm during a crime of violence, possession of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school, brandishing, exhibiting or using a deadly weapon and disturbance of the peace in connection to this incident.

Bail for Lee was set at $66,000, which she was unable to post. Lee was then remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.

Police urged anyone with information on the case to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-1774-2211 ext. 5556 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
