A 24-year-old man was shot and killed Friday evening in Campo Rico, the V.I. Police Department reported.
The victim was identified by next of kin as La’Quan Hill.
According to police, the 911 call center received a report at 7:54 p.m. from residents of the Campo Rico area reporting the discharge of shots.
Officers responded to the scene and discovered a black male, later identified as Hill, in the vicinity of the basketball court at Campo Rico. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to body.
The victim was transported to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police gave no information on suspect or suspects. The Criminal Investigations Bureau is investigating.
