Police Seek Pair of Suspects in Armed Car Theft

A married couple was returning home at about 10 p.m. Sunday when they were approached by two masked men who took their vehicle, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The victims told police they were in their car, a gray 1994 Toyota Camry with the license number CCE-989, and drove into their front yard. As they were getting out of the car two masked, armed men approached them and demanded the man’s wallet and car keys, which he gave them. The suspect then got into the victim’s car and drove away.

No one was injured, the police said.

According to the report, one suspect was described as Hispanic, about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, slim, dressed in all black with a cloth covering his face. The second was a black male about 6 feet tall, slim, also dressed in all black. Both suspects were carrying handguns.

Police searched the immediate and surrounding area for the stolen vehicle and the suspect, but were not able to find them. An all-points bulletin was issued to the 911 emergency call center.

The case will be followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
