Man Charged in Christiansted Assault

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives on St. Croix arrested Devon Scatliffe on Tuesday and charged him for an assault that took place over the weekend in Christiansted.

According to the police, Scatliffe was identified as the person who allegedly fired shots at another man at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Christiansted. Officers said Scatliffe, 28, and the victim, a 40-year-old man, were involved in a physical altercation near Company Street and Market Street before the suspect began firing at him.

Scatliffe was placed on a $75,000 bail. He was remanded to the custody of the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facilities pending further court action.
