Dodgers 'Mercy-Rule' Reds in Four Innings

The Dodgers' Christian Rasmussen gets the win from the plate. The Dodgers’ Christian Rasmussen threw a no-hitter and struck out eight Reds batters in a 12-0 whitewash in the Elmo Plaskett East Little League late game on Sunday at the D.C. Canegata ballpark.

The Dodgers scored five runs in the top of the first inning and did not look back.

Rasmussen was able to pitch the Dodgers out of all their jams and helped his own cause with a good night at the plate.

The Dodgers opened the scoring in the top of the first inning by plating five runs on a two-run homerun by Dionte Brooks and three Reds errors.

The lead was extended to 9-0 in the top of the second on RBI singles by Rasmussen and Dante Malloy.

After a scoreless third, the Dodgers rounded out the game with three runs in the top of the fourth on a two-run homerun by Rashidi Knight and another Reds miscue for the 12-0 victory.

Rasmussen got the win on the hill for the Dodgers while Augustus Martin got the loss for the Reds.

Top Dodgers batters were Knight (2 for 3 with a homerun and three RBIs), Rasmussen (2 for 3 with one RBI), and Ventura (2 for 3).
