Generation Now! Inc. will be recognizing youth for their participation in its mentoring program at a closeout ceremony at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at IHOP in the Sunny Isle Shopping Center.
The organization in conjunction with The Boys and Girls Club of St. Croix hosted an eight-week life skills training program entitled MAD (Molding Adolescent Development) Skills Mentoring Program on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The program provided a curriculum that included topics such as gang violence in the Virgin Islands, career day, cooking with Generation Now, conflict resolution, a community service car wash, a cultural tour of Christiansted, and a retreat at the Divi Carina Bay Resort. Enrollment was open to youths between the ages of 12 to 15.
Generation Now!, Inc. introduced the program five years ago and has mentored approximated 200 youths between the ages of 9 and 17 since its inception. It has received rave reviews from parents, former participants and the community.
Generation Now! Inc. is a group of concerned, professional young Virgin Islanders who are focused on making a difference in this community.
