Registration Begins for St. John Relay for Life Teams

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® of St. John requests that participants register their teams now by making an appointment to pick up a packet at The Quiet Mon Pub Friday, Dec. 2, anytime between 4-8 p.m.
Former and current cancer patients, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to take part. Relay For Life takes place from 4 p.m. on Feb. 11 until 10 a.m. on Feb. 12, 2012, at Julius Sprauve’s Winston Wells Ballfield.
Relay For Life events are held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at an athletic track, park or other gathering area, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening. Teams do most of their fundraising prior to the event, but some teams also hold creative fundraisers at their camp sites during Relay.
Those who are unable to make the Quiet Mon Pub Kick Off Registration Party, should call Celia Kalousek (St. John Community Foundation) at 643-0019 or Doug Bean (Skinny’s) at 690-2186. Join us on Facebook St John Relay for Life. Information about how to form a team or become involved in Relay For Life is also available at www.relayforlife.or/stjohnvi. To learn more, call 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
