Navy Hospitalman Milraen I. Hodge-Grande/St. Thomas
Nov. 4, 2011 (Fleet Hometown News Center)–Navy Hospitalman Milraen I. Hodge-Grande, son of Cadia P. Hodge-Grande of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, recently graduated from the Auxiliary Security Force (ASF) class of 30 personnel.
During ASF training, sailors are instructed on many topics, including Anti-Terrorism Force Protection, small arms, unarmed self defense, the rules of engagement, and the definition and legal responsibilities of deadly force.
Hodge-Grande went through a 3-week ASF class with the non-lethal weapons training that included OC pepper spray training. He also had an orientation and qualification on the Beretta M9, 9mm pistol, M-500 shotgun, and M-16 rifle.
Hodge-Grande is a 2008 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School of St. Thomas, V. I. and joined the Navy in August 2008.

Jules, daughter of Bert and Marcia Jules and sister of Shern Jules and also the granddaughter of Rhoda Morton of St. Thomas, V. I., recently completed the Essential Skills Writing Course (ESWC) conducted at Navy Public Affairs Support Element East aboard Naval Station Norfolk, Va.
The ESWC is especially suited for those unfamiliar with print journalism and is designed to develop skills involving basic composition, copy editing, interview techniques and story building.
Jules is a 2000 graduate of Ivanna Eudora Kean High School of St. Thomas, V. I. and joined the Navy Reserve in June 2004.
