Brief: Danish West Indies Passenger Records At Whim Saturday

The St. Croix Landmark Society will be displaying and discussing colonial-era passenger arrival records along with several other historical population and citizenship registries this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Whim Plantation on St. Croix.

Territorial Coordinator for Archives Susan Lugo will lecture on some of the materials available for historians and people tracing their ancestry. Featured records will include Danish West Indies passport and citizenry registers for Christiansted from 1794 to 1847; St. Thomas police station registers of persons arriving and passports issued for 1805 to 1899; and other passports, foreign visas, vendor registrations and lists of passenger arrivals and departures.

The Landmark Society is asking for $5 to attend the lecture and display.
