Farmers Market Set for Sunday

The monthly St. John Farmers Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the lower parking lot of the Lumberyard Shopping Complex.

“I organized it to provide a service,” St. John resident Karen Samuel said.

Samuel, who organized the first monthly Farmer’s Market in June, said it proved the demand was there.

“The place smelled and looked good, and people had a good time,” Samuel said.

She said one will be held on the second Sunday of each month.

For now, St. Thomas farmers are making the trip to St. John to sell their goods, but Samuel hopes that St. John farmers will soon join in. In addition to the farmers, Samuel said that two food vendors and one craftsman are selling their wares. She said she wants to maintain that mix.

She said she there is space for up to a dozen vendors. She asked that farmers call her to register in advance.

Call her at 514-8897 to register.
