The public is invited to a lecture/buffet dinner at the Best Western Emerald Beach Resort starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 10.The event, held under the auspices of the Coalition to Save Lindbergh Bay, is a fundraiser for the Virgin Islands Conservation Society to assist the association’s conservation efforts.
The fundraiser will be comprised of two segments: Starting at 5 p.m. the keynote address will be delivered by the renowned environmentalist, Dr. Stephens Kintner, in the Hibiscus Room of the resort.
The buffet dinner and entertainment will be provided at 7 p.m. in the Portobello Restaurant of the resort after the keynote address, and a question and answer session. Donation for the fundraiser is $35 per person all inclusive and recommended dress is island elegant.
Dr. Kintner, among other things, has been director of the Volusta County Environmental Management Division, director of the Brevara County Office of Natural Resources Management and coordinator of several environmental programs.
His publications include the critically acclaimed, “A Regional Strategy for Creating an Economically Sustainable Water Supply for CentralFlorida” and “A Guide to Project Management.” Moreover, he has been an adjunct professor of Environmental Science at Stetson University and is an active member of several environmental boards.
