Need a summer job? V.I. National Park on St. John is looking for five V.I. teens to help serve in its Youth Conservation Corps program this summer.
“They can find out about the possibility of a career in their national park,” Park Superintendent Mark Hardgrove said.
The eight-week job, which begins June 27 and ends Aug. 19, pays $7.25 an hour. The park is looking to a youth leader, as well.
The job provides students with an opportunity to work with other young people, gives them an educational and productive summer, and offers the chance to make and save some money, Hardgrove said.
Applicants must be between 15 and 18 years old and be U.S. citizens or hold permanent residency status.
Applications are available between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. every day until May 18 at the park Visitor Center in Cruz Bay. Additionally, applications are available at the park’s Red Hook, St. Thomas office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The park will also fax or mail applications.
Applicants will be chosen based on their responses in an interview.
