Dance Competition Benefits Animal Welfare Center

Got dancing feet? Are you a dance hall king or queen? So you think you can dance? Here’s your chance to prove it and to benefit the homeless and neglected animals of St. Croix Animal Welfare Center (AWC). For six consecutive Thursdays at 8 p.m. beginning Feb. 3, Cheeseburgers in Paradise will host a dance-off competition to find the next Crucian dance star. Couples can sign up for one of the following dance categories: rumba, country, salsa, swing, fox trot and cha cha. Dancers will compete to live music for prizes in each category. A $5 per couple donation fee to the Animal Welfare Center is requested. Raffles will be held in order to raise money for the shelter.

“We are grateful to the Cheeseburgers owners and staff and to musician Bob Marcy for hosting this benefit to help support our work in the community,” said shelter coordinator Gretchen Sherrill. “We’re encouraging everyone on island with happy feet to come on out and show off their skill to help our pets.”
To register for the competition or for more information, contact Bob Marcy at 718-7926.
