Scotiabank Announces ‘Share the Joy’ Thanksgiving Food Drive

'Share the Joy' Food Drive at Cost-U-Less
Every family deserves a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.Scotiabank is proud to announce its 2nd annual “Share the Joy” Thanksgiving food drive for needy families.
Last year Virgin Islanders donated 165 bags of groceries to V.I. charities. Show your support this year by purchasing a $20 bag of prepackaged groceries for a family in need. Visit Cost U Less, PriceSmart, Food Center or Schooner Bay Market Place, and look for the bright red bags. Scotiabank will donate a turkey for the first 20 bags purchased.
Andrew Kresch, marketing manager of Scotiabank, was extremely happy with the response of the community last year. “This time of year is about sharing and giving to others who aren’t quite as lucky as yourself.”
Cost-U-Less on St. Thomas and St. Croix are participating again with special displays at the front of their stores. Scott Ramsey, manager of the Sion Farm location, was excited to be involved again this year. Cost-U-Less St. Thomas is inviting shoppers to fill a bag with their choice groceries and then donate the bag at the cashier. PriceSmart, St Thomas, has added the opportunity for shoppers to donate individual food items so everyone can contribute and feel involved.
Thanksgiving dinner gift bags are available starting Saturday, Nov. 13 through Monday, Nov. 22, and all donated Thanksgiving bags will be distributed through local charities. Family Resource Center, Catholic Charities, Bethlehem House on St. Thomas as well as Woman’s Coalition, Lutheran Social Services and the Salvation Army on St Croix.
