FOSTPL Meet to Plan National Friends of Libraries Week

Friends of St. Thomas Public Library members and prospective members are invited to the next meeting that will plan for the 2010 Friends of Libraries Week. The meeting is set for 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30 at the Ralph M. Paiewonsky (UVI) Library Conference Room. National Friends of Libraries Week (Oct. 17-23) is observed nationwide, and FOSTPL plans to open the week with a community open house to be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17 at historic Estate Catherineberg. This will be the kick-off to an ongoing fundraising drive on behalf of the St. Thomas Regional Library in Tutu, which is now nearing completion.
The week is an initiative supported by the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF), which is a division of the American Library Association (ALA).
