Suspect Arrested After Robbery

A 20-year-old St. Croix man was arrested late Thursday and charged with a robbery that had occurred a short while earlier, the Virgin Islands Police Department announced Friday.

The first-degree robbery occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of the Mutual Homes housing community.

According to the police report a 26-year-old male said he was robbed at gunpoint by an unknown male. The suspect took cash and a cell phone from the victim.

Police issued an all-points bulletin on the suspects’ vehicle and police located the car and suspect in the area. A .45 caliber handgun and the stolen cell phone were seized from inside the vehicle.

Akeem Phillips, 20, was charged with first-degree 5robbery.
