Antilles School Hosts the VBcamps Peak Volleyball Camp by Mike Welch

The VBcamps Peak Volleyball Camp by Mike Welch is a great camp to help beginner through advanced players in 6th to 12th grade reach their peak performance potential, and it is coming to the Antilles School from June 9-11. The camp offers a fun and positive atmosphere, a great training curriculum and games. Based on the experience levels of participants, training will range from fundamental skills to advanced position-specific training. Team system training in offense, defense and transition is also integrated into the camp experience. Drills progress from high feedback repetitions to fun fast-paced game-like scenarios. Sessions are from 8:30-11 a.m. and noon to 2:30 p.m., each day. The $229 registration fee includes the volleyball camp, a complimentary backpack and water bottle, and more.

Beginners get exposed to the game, learn the skills and have fun with the sport. Intermediate players develop skills, position specific training, team system training and fun competitive games. Advanced players enhance position-specific skills with collegiate level intensity. Mike Welch will personally lead all sessions. He spent five years as a U.S.A. National Team development coach, including two years as the head coach of the U.S.A. Girls Youth National Team and as head coach in the U.S. Olympic Festival. As a U.S.A. coach, Mike coached numerous future Olympians, including Olympic gold and silver medalists. As an NCAA collegiate head coach, he has led teams to six nationally ranked seasons, five conference championships, four NCAA Tournaments, two All-Americans, 17 All-Region, 43 All-Conference and 84 Academic All-Conference honorees in 17 seasons at the NCAA Division I and II levels.
