New Members Admitted to V.I. Bar at Ceremony

Honorable Chief Justice Rhys S. Hodge announced that the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands convened its Fifth Bar Admission Ceremony for the 2009 term at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, at the United States District Court of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas.

The panel presiding over the bar admission ceremony consisted of Rhys S. Hodge, chief justice; Maria M. Cabret, associate justice; and Ive Arlington Swan, associate justice. Chairman Geoffrey W. Barnard appeared on behalf of the Committee of Bar Examiners and moved for the admission of the following individuals:
Wayne Gerald Anderson
Michele Baker
Elise Catera
Daniel Louis Cevallos
Nancy Margaret Flanagan
Helen K. Kim
Thomas G. Kraeger
Mia L. Woodard
The committee and the Office of Bar Admissions are administrative arms of the Supreme Court of the V.I. with inherent judicial functions to assist the Supreme Court in the administration of the V.I. bar examination, which includes character and fitness investigations; ascertaining the qualifications of applicants for admission to the Virgin Islands Bar; and moving for the admission of those applicants who meet those requirements as established by Supreme Court Rule 204.
