Valentino I. McBean Dies

The McBean Family wishes to announce the passing of Valentino I. McBean, senior vice president / regional manager of Banco Popular United States and British Virgin Islands. Valentino passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Schneider Regional Medical Center.

Valentino McBean was born on St. Croix, attended the Catholic University of Puerto Rico and was with Banco Popular for 21 years. He was in the forefront of a wide range of major financial and managerial transactions for the Virgin Islands in both the private and public sectors.
He is survived by his wife, Yvette; son, Craig; daughters: Deneen Bidos and Cyndia McBean: brothers: David and Kendall; sisters: Wilma, Germaine and Denise; son-in-law, Leon Bidos; daughter-in-law, Sheree Ann McBean; 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and the Banco Popular family.
There will be tributes and a musical prelude at 9 a.m. and a funeral service held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. The burial will be in Eastern Cemetery.
The McBean family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 301767, St. Thomas,VI 00803.
Arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
