Schedule Given for Emancipation Holiday Events

Emancipation Day celebrations will be held on June 28, July 2 and 3. The schedule of events follows:
On Sunday, June 28: Emancipation Donkey Races (produced by the Gentlemen of Jones) will be held at 1 p.m., at Paul E. Joseph Stadium.
On Thursday, July 2: Emancipation Tea Meeting (in conjunction with the Department of Tourism) will feature Paul Keens Douglas, at 7:30 p.m., at Fort Frederik.
On Friday, July 3 : Emancipation Fort-to-Fort Walk (produced and directed by Senator “Positive” Nelson) will be held at 5:30 a.m., at Fort Christiansvaern.
There will be a food sale at noon in Buddhoe Park.
The Emancipation Program, featuring Dr. Carlyle Corbin and Mario Moorhead, will take place at 4 p.m., at Fort Frederik.
The Emancipation Street Quadrille, featuring Native Rhythm, will perform at 7:30 p.m., in Buddhoe Park.
