Rubber Tire Reefs Are a Failure

Dear Source:
Rubber tire reefs that were thought to be a good idea in the 70s have proved to be an environmental disaster and are now being removed at considerable expense by concerned organizations around the world. The following link says it all:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-02-17-florida-reef_x.htm
Another idea for old tires is to stack them vertically, fill them with topsoil, and grow a garden that can be tended without bending over. More info on this idea should be available at the UVI Extension Service.
