Sunset Jazz Presents Judi Fricks

Aug. 19, 2008 – The Sunset Jazz concert featuring Judi Fricks has been rescheduled due to the rain that came on Aug. 15. It will now be held at 6 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 22., at the Frederiksted Waterfront promenade in Verne I. Richards Veterans Park.
Judi Fricks, who lives on St. Croix, has performed in two musicals at Caribbean Community Theatre, "Spitfire" and "Pump Boys and Dinettes," and she is a regular performer in the A&E shows. The former Mrs. Virgin Islands in 2004 has done two "Wine, Women and Song shows."
Although not a traditional jazz singer, her gospel roots and pop style make a unique soulful infusion. Fricks will be backed up by jazz musicians: Marsvyn David, musical director and bass guitarist; Elvis Pedro, lead guitarist; Loren Hughes, keyboardist; Toby Derima, on drums; and Demitri "Pikey" Copemann on saxophone.
The free concerts are a family affair and run from 6-8 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to bring along folding chairs or blankets for seating. FEDA will have its drink concession going, with proceeds helping to offset the costs of the concert, so Please Be Cool: No Coolers!
Sunset Jazz is sponsored and hosted by The Frederiksted Economic Development Association Inc. (FEDA). WVIQ/Sunny 99.5 FM is the Official Radio Station of Sunset Jazz And WTJX records all new artists performing at the events.
