DPNR Holds Fifth Annual Brownfields Forum

July 21, 2008 – The Department of Planning and Natural Resources Division of Environmental Protection's Brownfields Program will host its 5th annual forum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Wednesday, July 30, at the Westin Resort, on St. John.
This year's forum, Paving the Way to Redevelopment, will feature representatives from the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the 27th Legislature, DPNR staff and local contractors. Discussions will focus on federal guidelines, the V.I. Brownfields Act, public/private partnerships and DPNR Brownfields initiatives.
Commissioner Mathes said, "The Virgin Islands Brownfields Program is making steady progress in putting an effective Brownfields Program in place in the Virgin Islands."
"Stakeholders from all levels of government, the business and financial community, realtors, developers, planners, consultants, and community leaders should attend," he said.
Pre-registration is required and admission is free. Since space is limited, interested persons should pre-register with the department.
To pre-register for the forum, contact Kysha Wallace at 774-3320.
