UVI-SBDC and SBA to Hold Seminar for the Military Community

Nov. 3, 2007 – The University of the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) presents the seminar: "SBA Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative and Other SBA Programs." The seminar is for veterans and members of the military community wanting to establish or expand small businesses. It will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the V.I. Legislature Conference Room in Cruz Bay, St. John. The presenter is Carl Christensen, branch manager of the SBA in the U. S. Virgin Islands. Admission is free; however, pre-registration is required.
Military community members who are eligible for the class include:
Veterans
· Service-disabled veterans
· Active-duty service members eligible for the military's Transition Assistance Program
· Reservists and National Guard members
· Current spouses of any of the above
· The widowed spouse of a service member or veteran who died during service or of a service-connected disability
