Oct. 11, 2007 – Efrien Diaz Melendez, also known as "Fren," of Campo Rico died on Oct. 9, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Diaz; daughters: Genoveva, Monsita, Julia, Laeticia and Maria Diaz, Awilda Ayala and Nayda Luz Diaz-Feliciano; sons: Carlos Diaz, Esteban Diaz, Pedro Cirilo Jr., and Efrien Diaz Jr.; 43 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister: Rosa Diaz; brothers: Jose, Artemio and Marcial Diaz; best friends: Juan Rivera, Ramon Cuencas, Anibal Reyes, and Lillians and Humberto O'Neal, as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The first viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 12, at the James Memorial Funeral Home. A second viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Kingshill Chapel; followed by a funeral service, at 10 a.m., at the chapel. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
