Our Best Hope for the Future

Dear Source:
Allan Stanford is right on the money (pardon the pun). Because we fail year after year to do anything about our broken economy, we continue to loose our most competent people. We invest our resources and time into the young people. They do their very best to become educated and advance their lives… then, in order to survive, they leave and usually do not return. We have been exporting our brain power for decades now. Unless you have a family business to carry on, or get lucky with a new business startup, you must leave to find good paying work. Add to that the high cost of living, much of which is due to poor management and bad government, and the idea of staying here in the VI is not a financially good one. It is only with a powerful private sector presence here, working closely with government, can this economy improve. Let’s fix the EDC so that more and more people like Mr. Stanford will seek and find us here in the VI. The resources and talent that these kinds of people bring here are our best hope for a better future for our children.
