MAN GUNNED DOWN IN ESTATE GROVE PLACE

April 30, 2003 – The territory's second shooting death this week was reported late Tuesday night on St. Croix.
St. Lucia native Levi Innocent, 27, was walking toward his residence in the Mutual Homes housing community, and as he passed through Estate Grove Place, he was chased and shot to death, according to Sgt. Thomas Hannah, Police Department public information officer.
Hannah said Innocent was shot several times in the head, back and buttocks. He said the police investigation so far has turned up no suspects, motive or witnesses.
On Monday, Ezekiel Henry, 29, was shot to death on St. Thomas as he stopped along the road to buy some coconuts from a vendor, police said. Police have identified a witness to the crime, but no motive or suspects have been identified.
Innocent's killing is the third on St. Croix and the 12th in the territory this year. Henry's is the ninth on St. Thomas.
