JUDGE FINDS PROBABLE CAUSE IN RAPE CHARGE

A Territorial Court judge found probable cause Monday to charge Paul Testamark, 52, with first-degree rape and unlawful sexual contact and to order the Hospital Ground man to post $75,000 bail or remain in jail.
Judge Rhys S. Hodge was told in an advice-of-rights hearing that Testamark allegedly raped a 41-year-old woman in the parking lot of Chase Manhattan Bank's waterfront branch Saturday morning.
The victim told police she was walking along the branch early Saturday morning when Testamark approached her, grabbed her, took her to the parking lot and sexually assaulted her. About an hour after the incident, the victim pointed Testamark out to police in the vicinity of the St. Thomas Reformed Church on Crystal Gade.
Testamark admitted to investigating officers that he had sex with the victim, court testimony on Monday revealed.
Hodge ordered bail to remain at $75,000, though prosecutors asked that it be increased to $85,000.
