CHRISTIANSTED 'JUMP UP' NOW ON FOR DEC. 10

The Christiansted Restaurant and Retail Association's "Holiday Jump Up," originally scheduled for Nov. 26 but postponed due to Hurricane Lenny, is now set for Friday, Dec. 10, from 6 to 10 p.m.
Now in its sixth year, the downtown Christiansted Jump Up will feature after-hours shopping, street music by youth bands, stilt dancing by the Guardians of Culture mocko jumbies, and a photo-opportunity "Santa Center" in the Hotel Caravelle courtyard.
Drawings for prize will be held throughout the evening, and everyone gets to cast a ballot for the "best-decorated store." Not-for-profit organizations and businesses will have informational displays.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is to take place at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Queen Cross Street and King Street, adjacent to Government House.
