HURRICANE EXPERT DROPS 2002 PREDICTION BY ONE

Less than two months before the official start of hurricane season, Colorado State University professor William Gray on Friday reduced his December 2001 prediction of four major Atlantic/Caribbean hurricanes this year by one. He now foresees 12 named storms, seven of them hurricanes, and three of those major hurricanes.
