Woman Arrested After Property Damage Report on St. John

A woman was arrested after allegedly damaging property at the residence of a former acquaintance on St. John, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Police said the incident occurred at about 12 a.m. Saturday, when the woman allegedly traveled to the residence and damaged property.

The suspect was identified as Gregoria Roderky Zapata Mateo. According to a VIPD police report, Mateo was transported to the Richard Callwood Command, where she was booked and processed on a charge of destruction of property-domestic violence. No bail was set, and she was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.

The case remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Anyone with information is asked to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-693-8880 or Crime Stoppers V.I. at 800-222-8477 (TIPS).
