President Joe Biden is expected to be on St. Croix during the Crucian Christmas Festival this year, according to Police Commissioner Ray A. Martinez.

Martinez said at a Committee on Homeland Security, Justice and Public Safety hearing Tuesday, “We are also honored once again to host the President of the United States, an event that not only elevates the island’s and festival’s stature but also highlights our capacity to manage high-profile events with utmost efficiency and security.”

Biden was on St. Croix last year during the festival. His visit last December was the first time the territory welcomed a sitting president since former President Bill Clinton vacationed on St. Thomas in 1997. Biden visited as vice president in 2019.
