Deri, the “Island Chanteuse,” will present a Night at the Theater on Thursday at the Frederick D. Dorsch Theater in Frederiksted on St. Croix.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., featuring soulful music by Deri. Tickets are $20 in advance on Eventbrite and at the UCA Vegan Restaurant adjacent to Buddhoe Park, open Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $30 at the door. A cash bar will be provided by Cibone Restaurant.

The show was originally scheduled for October and was to feature Deri’s brother, Derrick “DJ Shack,” but had to be postponed. Thursday’s show will feature a multi-instrumentalist instead of DJ Shack.

Deri, who moved from New York to St. Croix in October 2020 to spend time with her family, has performed as an actress and a dancer, although she sang from the early age of eight or nine in elementary school and on through high school and later in college. “I grew up around church singers, but I’m more of a crooner,” she said in a previous interview.

“A Night at the Dorsch Theater” will be Deri’s last public performance on St. Croix. She has plans to move to Atlanta to record and explore film opportunities.
