Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center thanks the Lions Club, CHOP (Bar & Grill Restaurant) and Cost-U-Less for their recent donations to the Juan Luis team. They are very happy to be the recipients of these gifts and cherishes the support of these organizations as it continues to remain committed to fulfilling its mission, “To drive improvement in the health of those we serve while exemplifying compassion and respect.”

Prior to leaving the hospital with a newborn, a family is required to have an infant car seat. Unfortunately for some, the cost of such may present difficulty. To extend this access, the Lions Club generously donated car seats – among other essentials, games and gifts – to the Pediatrics Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

According to Luis interim CEO Dyma Williams, “The JFL team wishes to express a hearty thank you to the Lions Club for their thoughtful gifts. The ability to use games and play for the health of our community’s children that need care at JFL is a worthy cause. We know that each item will be of great use to not only our team but the St. Croix community as well.”

The Juan Luis Hospital team is also grateful to CHOP (Bar & Grill Restaurant) for their show of support through a donation of 100 individually boxed lunches.

Williams said, “As our health care workers continue to work tirelessly to ensure our safety during these unprecedented times, we appreciate CHOP for providing these hot meals for our JFL superheroes.”

The Juan Luis team is also grateful to Cost-U-Less for providing 50 face shields for team members. “As our health care workers continue to work tirelessly to ensure our safety during these unprecedented times, we appreciate Cost-U-Less for providing face shields for our JFL superheroes as we stand on the front lines of the pandemic. Every face shield keeps our health care workers safe,” Williams said.

As the St. Croix hospital experiences a rise in active cases in the territory, it implores the public to continue to adhere to CDC guidelines including and not limited to wearing a mask, social distancing, covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue then disposing of the tissue, washing hands often with soap and warm water for 20 seconds and staying home and away from others when you are sick with any respiratory disease symptoms.
